Good Samaritan Ministry

Jesus taught that loving our neighbor looked like a story about a Samaritan, outcast man showing compassion on another in deep need. The Good Samaritan not only gave service to the man in need, but also developed a relationship with Him. We follow Jesus’ example through many different ministries. We live this example in many ways, including collections, hands-on opportunities, and our commitment to give 10% of all offerings to ministries outside of our walls.

These are some of the ways we are collectively living out our call to love our neighbors.

Second Sunday Collection
The Second Sunday of each month is dedicated to bringing items for the local food pantries. God cares about our bodies so we help provide nourishment. Check back soon for some pictures of our most recent collection for the DeSoto Food Pantry.

Clothing Closet in Kansas City, Kansas
LifeBridge has begun helping with a clothing giveaway at Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church.   This ministry helps the population in the Argentine area who mostly speak English as a second language.   Part of the church and the community is a population of 100 Congolese immigrants.

LifeBridge takes part in this month clothing closet on the First Saturday of the Month from 8:30-11:30am.  Text us as 913-278-1114 with any questions or to tell us that you will be there to help.

Clear Creek Elementary School Partnership
LifeBridge has partnered with Clear Creek Elementary to help with some of their students in need.  We fill up kids’ lunch accounts that run empty.  We partner with different parenting events and we have purchased all the makings of a Thanksgiving meal for multiple families the last two years.   Thank you for your weekly offering that allows us to do this ministry and others.

  • Clear Creek Champions — LifeBridge is beginning an ongoing relationship with Clear Creek  to find a few willing and reliable individuals that could volunteer about 30 minutes of their time each week with a child at the school.  Ideally, it would be the same 30 minutes of time and the volunteer would be paired up with a child that is lacking a consistent adult in their life.  The time may be spent talking, reading, shooting hoops – whatever is mutually decided with the school leaders.  If you think you are able to fill this need, please contact the following at Clear Creek, contact office@LifeBridgeKC.org

Some Additional Good Samaritan Activities
LifeBridge has given to the Special Olympics, KVC Foster Care, Operation Christmas Child, Shawnee Community Services in recent months as well as delivering Valentine’s Day Cards to a local nursing home. Visit this page often for news on the next way we extend love to our neighbors.
